A tough day at the office for our men’s teams this week, with our Div 4 Black team the only winner 
Our Women’s Black team continued their unbeaten run however the Red team unfortunately had to forfeit due to a lack of players. Our Juniors teams continue to play well, with most teams winning this weekend.

Darcy Longstaff performed well in his debut game for the Melbourne Aces last weekend. Darce came in to relieve with two out and two runners on base against Geelong-Korea and picked up the out. Unfortunately the Aces went down 3-0.

Congratulations to Ethan Johnston, Sam Stafilis and Sam Walk on their selection to represent Victoria in the U16 State Team. The championship will be played in Sydney from 9-18 January 2023.

ITS BACK! After 3 years, Club 3150 is returning to Waverley Baseball Club and we hope to bring back lots of new and familiar faces, especially those we haven’t seen for some time. The event will include an afternoon of enjoyment, catching up and fund raising the new Multi-Purpose Training Facility. Tickets are $60 per person, or $100 for a couple and include:
- Appetisers
- Roast lunch
- Sweets to finish
- 2 hours open bar (Beer, Wine and Soft drink only, with Spirits at half price)

Lost 12-6 vs Upwey It was an ordinary outing for us today, going down to Upwey 12-6. We started strongly, putting 3 runs on the board in the bottom of the first, but again we struggled to maintain intensity and energy for two hours and paid the price. We were still right in the contest until the last inning with the score at 7-6 but we gave up plenty of runs late in the game on walks and defensive lapses. We swung the bat ok with highlights being a HR to Mitch Wilhite and multiple hits to Loch O’Connor. Expecting a big response next week boys.

U/18 State Report
Under 18 State League lost to Geelong 8-1 A one all ball game after 70 minutes went pear shaped late. Ethan was again outstanding on the hill, pounding the strike zone and giving up just one unearned run. Unfortunately our relief corp couldn’t follow Ethan’s lead, and too many walks handed Geelong the lead. Ethan, Jack, and Mason led the way with the bat.
