Summary of the round
The wet weather continues to cause havoc with games. This week we had 4 games cancelled due to poor weather. On a brighter note, our teams continue to perform well. Our Men’s Firsts, Seconds, Fourths and Waverley Black are all undefeated, as are both our Women’s teams. Our Junior teams are performing well, and more importantly the coaches are all reporting improvements in skill levels.
Batting Tunnel Repaired
Huge shout to Matt Vos for installing the new artificial grass in the batting cages. Massive thank you to all Matt’s staff from

Firsts Report
In a close game Waverley came out winners 8-7 against Sunshine. Jamie Pap took the win after Darcy Logstaff started the game. Mitch Ley and Luke Pap closed the game out. Both Jake Sheldon-Collins and Damon Hill hit home runs. Jake, Mitch Ley and Mohi Kahui each picked up two hits. Damon batted in five of our eight runs. Many thanks to Ryan Stanaway who came in to first base after Mitch Wilhite injured his calf muscle

It is officially a streak … 4’s WIN AGAIN! 17 – 0 versus Sunshine 10 + hits, heaps of stolen bases and a truck load of excellent team at bats right through the order was awesome to get our runs. The game highlight, apart from the 63 year old starting catcher, was undoubtedly Corey Adams throwing a complete (5 inning) no-no with 10 K’s … just awesome ?? Very happy coach

U/18 State Report
Under 18 State League lost 7-0 this morning to Melbourne. Bangk threw well this morning, giving up no hits and striking out 5 in two and two thirds innings and when he exited the game we were trailing 1-0. Unfortunately we struggled to find the strike zone in the last part of the game, and with a couple of errors we gave up six late runs. We again outhit our opponents, with Sam leading the way with two big doubles. Our inability to foul off close pitches to draw walks was the big difference between the two sides.
